One of the largest EU supported ICT communities just launched a competition for start-ups looking to scale-up. The contest focuses on 8 topics:
- Health & Wellbeing
- Smart Spaces
- Cyber-Physical Systems
- Future Cloud
- Cyber Security and Privacy
- Internet of Things
- Urban Life and Mobility
- Smart Energy Systems
The prize money in each of the topics are: EUR 40,000 for the winner, EUR 25,000 for second place and EUR 15,000 for third place. Besides this, the winners will be supported to scale up their business quickly across Europe and beyond through the extensive network of business accelerators, angels and VC investors the community has.
The application to enter the competition has to be submitted by the 6th of July. In each of the eight topics, 10 finalists will be selected to pitch in front of a jury in autumn 2015.
To be eligible to apply, a start-up must have max. 5 years of existence, less than EUR 1,000,000 of external funding received and be incorporated in the EU. Additionally, it needs to meet at least one of the following criteria: existing customers or a public beta, revenue of min EUR 12,000 or seed investments of min EUR 100,000.
