We are pleased to present to you the report Analysis of the Gender Gap in the Digital Sector in Malta following a study that we undertook for eSkills Malta Foundation. The eSkills Malta Foundation is leading numerous initiatives for encouraging girls and women to consider a digital career, as having more women in the digital sector can bring more diversity and success to the ICT products and services deployed in consumer, industrial, government and educational markets.
The study is a continuation of previous a project undertaken by the eSkills Malta Foundation to issue Guidelines to Increase and Retain Women in ICT, project in which Ascend Consulting was also involved in, this through Anamaria Magri Pantea’s active participation in the eSkills Women in ICT Focus Group.
This study gives a snapshot of the current gender status in the Maltese digital sector in 2020, showing that the ICT intensive organisations have been making significant efforts to attract more women in their organisations. However, it also highlights that the public sector has to do more if it is to benefit from a more diverse environment. Although the analysis gives a positive general feedback, there is clearly more work ahead to be done. In infographic of the recommended way ahead can be found here.
