EU Call for tenders on Blockchain & DLT

The European Commission has launched on 21st July 2017 a call for proposals to set-up a European expertise hub on Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies.

A budget of up to EUR 500,000 is available to support over a 2 years period the creation of a European Blockchain Observatory and Forum and its specific work in:

  1. Identifying and mapping relevant existing blockchain initiatives, monitoring and analysing blockchain developments and trends, as well as theĀ  potential implications in terms of risks and opportunities for Europe,
  2. Developing and providing expertise and support for experience sharing and learning from existing initiatives, particularly regarding the role and specific actions needed from EU-level policy making and implementation support bodies,
  3. Creating an attractive and transparent forum to engage with stakeholders to facilitate discussions, exchanges and reflections on such possible specific actions, to animate and drive lead expert and public debate by involving public authorities, regulators and supervisors. A number of larger scale events and smaller workshops are envisaged in this sense.

The deadline for submission of proposals in response to this call for tenders is 25th September 2017.
